Lucknow: A bank probationary officer (PO) died after his motorcycle was hit by a pickup vehicle in the PGI area in the early hours of Tuesday, police said.The deceased was identified as Rahul Singh, son of Digambar Singh, a resident of Kharika, Rajiv Nagar Ghosiyana in Telibagh. He was working as a probationary officer at a bank.According to police, the accident occurred around 1.30 am on Tuesday when Singh was returning home on his Honda Shine motorcycle (UP 32 QK 3276). A pickup vehicle bearing registration number UP 32 RN 6788, coming from the opposite direction, collided with his motorcycle near a CNG station in Sector 6 of Vrindavan Yojana.The impact left Singh critically injured. On receiving information, PGI police immediately reached the spot and shifted him to the Trauma Centre in a 108 ambulance. His family was also informed about the accident.Despite treatment, Singh succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.Police have taken the pickup vehicle into custody and detained its driver, Abhishek Prajapati (24), a resident of Kumhar Mandi in Telibagh.Police said further legal proceedings are underway in connection with the accident.
