Hyderabad: A woman who had been staying in a hotel room with her partner for nearly a week was found murdered in SR Nagar on Tuesday, with police alleging that a late-night quarrel may have ended in a fatal assault. The accused, who allegedly fled the hotel hours before the body was discovered, is now the subject of a police manhunt.B Sirisha (34), a bank customer care executive and a native of Nagasamudram in Vikarabad district, was allegedly murdered by her lover A Srinivas (38), a native of Obulapur village in Vikarabad.According to police, Sirisha, a divorcee, had been in a relationship with Srinivas.“Srinivas does some work in Telugu film industry. He has been staying in the hotel at SR Nagar since Sept 9, and Sirisha checked into his room on Sept 24. While checking in, both gave fake Aadhaar cards with false names as ID proofs,” Jubilee Hills DCP A Ramana Reddy said.Police said Srinivas checked into the hotel under the name Ganesh, while Sirisha used the name Durga.At around 3.30 am on Tuesday, Srinivas left the hotel after allegedly informing reception staff that Sirisha would check out later in the morning after breakfast. However, when she failed to respond to repeated doorbell calls till noon, hotel staff alerted the police.In the presence of police personnel, hotel employees opened room No. 103 using a duplicate key and found Sirisha lying dead on the bed. A food plate was found next to her.“We suspect that Sirisha and Srinivas had an argument in the night and he attacked her with a blunt object, causing death,” the DCP said.A case has been registered against Srinivas under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.A Clues team visited the hotel and collected forensic evidence from the crime scene. Police also secured CCTV footage from the premises as part of the investigation.Police formed special teams and dispatched them to Srinivas’s native village, as well as bus stations and railway stations, to trace and apprehend him.
