BENGALURU: A late-night movie outing turned horrific for a 31-year-old man after he returned to his house around 1.30am on Sept 26 and found it ransacked. Worse, two intruders still inside the house attacked him before scooting away with 20 grams of gold jewellery and 45 grams of silver ornaments.According to a complaint filed by P Jagadish, from Maruthi Layout in Katamnallur, his family had travelled to Andhra Pradesh on Sept 25. Jagadish, who works in the finance department at a private hospital in Hoskote, stayed back in Bengaluru. He and his friends planned a movie night out.After returning from work, he locked his house around 10.15pm and left for the theatre. Upon his return, Jagadish was aghast to find the front door of his house ajar. According to his complaint, one intruder was tall and thin and wearing a helmet, and the other was of average height and had covered his face with a mask. He suspects the miscreants were aged between 25 and 30 years.As Jagadish confronted them, the masked miscreant struck him on the head with an iron rod. As they tried to attack him again, Jagadish rushed out and sought help from neighbours. In the melee, the duo fled on a bike.Jagadish found gold jewellery, including a pair of earrings, a chain and six finger rings, missing from the cupboard. The thieves also made off with two silver waist belts, a pair of bangles and three pairs of anklets. Jagadish, bleeding from a deep head injury, informed his friends about the incident. He was taken to a hospital, from where he has since been discharged.
