New ministers in Assam: New Assam ministers sworn in with key portfolios; CM Sarma retains control over additional departments until further expansion

Guwahati: The four ministers who took oath alongside chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma have been allocated their portfolios.Rameshwar Teli, a former union MoS, will oversee the labour welfare, tea tribes and adivasi welfare, and transformation and development departments. Ajanta Neog, who previously held the finance portfolio, has been given charge of women and child development and tourism.Atul Bora, agriculture minister in the last government, will now head panchayat and rural development, implementation of the Assam Accord, border protection and development, and excise. Charan Boro retains his earlier responsibilities for transport and welfare of Bodoland.All other departments will remain under the chief minister until the ministry is expanded after the first assembly session concludes on May 26.
