Hyderabad: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday responded to recent remarks by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on the place of Muslims and other minorities in India.In a post on X, Owaisi referred to Bhagwat’s statement that a Hindu who believes there should be no Muslims in Bharat would not remain a Hindu.“This is the oldest trick in the RSS playbook. Some words are for the world, and some are for its own members. The RSS has never disavowed its key thinkers and writers. What do they say about Muslims and other minorities?” Owaisi said.The AIMIM leader also referred to the writings and views of RSS ideologues, including KB Hedgewar and MS Golwalkar. He cited passages from publications associated with the organisation and argued that they should be examined alongside current statements.Owaisi said debates on Hindu-Muslim unity, democracy and minority rights had long featured in discussions about the RSS and its ideological background.He also referred to Golwalkar’s book Bunch of Thoughts and discussed its references to various communities. Owaisi argued that public discussion on such writings was necessary to understand differing political and social viewpoints.Urging greater scrutiny of historical texts, Owaisi said: “Recite choice extracts from the works of Savarkar, Hedgewar, Golwalkar, etc. Let people decide what they make of the RSS.” The comments were posted on X and drew attention to the continuing debate over ideology, history and minority issues in India.
