Ahmedabad: The North Zone estate department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Thursday levied a penalty ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 2 lakh on four construction sites in the Gota, Bodakdev and Chandlodia areas of the city for failing to follow environmental regulations and contributing to air pollution.At the ongoing construction site of Arambh Greens in the Chandlodia area, the mandatory green net was not installed. Additionally, the site encroached onto the road by placing materials. Consequently, a notice was issued and a penalty of Rs 50,000 was recovered. The ongoing construction site named Orium Zenith in the Chandlodia ward was penalized Rs 50,000 for not installing the green net. The construction site named The Valenor in Bodakdev was penalized Rs 25,000 for not installing the green net and illegally dumping materials on the road. The construction site named Elinor 51 in Gota was fined Rs 2 lakh for causing air pollution. The estate department of the Northwest Zone took possession of a reserved plot in TP Scheme No. 45 of Gota in the Chandlodia ward. Illegal constructions on the plot were removed. In Jagatpur’s TP Scheme No. 34, illegal constructions on a reserved plot were demolished and possession of the plot was taken.
