BENGALURU: A man has been detained after a video surfaced on social media purportedly showing a group of bikers performing wheelies and blocking the path of an ambulance in Bengaluru, police said on Monday.The incident, which reportedly took place in the early hours of July 4, triggered widespread outrage online over the alleged obstruction of an emergency vehicle, news agency PTI reported.The viral video shows four youths riding two motorcycles in front of an ambulance between Goraguntepalya and Yeshwanthpur, preventing it from moving despite its siren being on.According to police, the incident occurred at around 2. 30am on July 4. The vehicles seen in the video have been identified, and one of the alleged bikers has been detained and taken into custody for further investigation, PTI reported.A senior police officer said investigators are examining the viral video along with CCTV footage from the area to identify all those involved.“Strict legal action will be taken against them,” the officer said.Police said stringent action would be initiated once all the bikers are traced to ensure such dangerous behaviour is not repeated on the city’s roads.(With agency inputs)
