Noida: A car driver was assaulted by a couple in Sector 17 after their child suddenly came in front of his car. While he promptly applied the brakes and prevented the child from being hit, the parents accused the driver of endangering the kid, beat him up and damaged his car.Police are trying to identify and arrest those involved.According to the police, the incident occurred on Monday outside the JJ Colony in Sector 17. The child unexpectedly ran onto the road and came directly in front of the vehicle. The driver swiftly applied emergency brakes and stopped the car from hitting the child. The child did not suffer any injuries in the incident.However, tensions escalated immediately after the incident. Family members of the child, who were present nearby, allegedly became enraged and confronted the driver. The situation soon turned violent, with the relatives assaulting him and causing damage to the vehicle. During the altercation, the car’s window was smashed and the driver sustained minor injuries.A police team from the Sector 20 police station rushed to the spot and dispersed the crowd. The injured driver was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.Subsequently, a case was filed under sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (mischief), 352 (intentional insult) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Meanwhile, a 37-second video of the incident was shared on various social media platforms. The footage shows the damaged car parked on the roadside near the DND stretch, with a crowd gathered around the vehicle. The incident also caused brief traffic disruption in the area before police intervened and restored normal movement.
