Lucknow: Responding to the comments by Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, BJP’s senior functionary Sidharth Nath Singh on Sunday said that Yadav has come up with the “mother of all lies” by stating that the Yogi Adityanath govt has not been able to set up any university for higher education.Countering Akhilesh’s narrative, Singh said that from 15 medical colleges, the number of specialised medical universities and institutes has increased to more than 45 in the past nine years. “Similarly, only a limited number of degree colleges existed under the SP regime. But now we have close to 70 degree colleges to educate our students in various disciplines in UP.”“You are unable to identify the positive initiatives and schemes of the Yogi govt. I want to appeal to you that just by spreading misleading information and lies, you will not succeed at deceiving the public. People are listening to your comments carefully and you cannot take them for a ride,” Singh said.He launched a counterattack on the Samajwadi Party through social media on Sunday evening and said that UP govt had been instrumental in setting up specialised universities and higher education institutes across the state. Singh cited examples of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University in Aligarh, Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut, Maa Vindhyavasini University in Mirzapur, and Maa Pateshwari University in Balrampur, among others.
