Accountability not in BJP’s vocabulary, it believes in plutocracy: Akhilesh
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow: “Accountability is not a part of BJP’s vocabulary. BJP believes that Jan-Tantra (democracy) is actually Dhan-Tantra (plutocracy) and believes in exploiting the people,” said Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday.Citing the instance of Hamirpur where schoolchildren entered the DM’s office compound demanding laying of the road leading to their school, Akhlesh said it has shown that people have decided that if govt and governance does not reach the common man, the latter will reach them instead.“BJP wants to impose dictatorship and autocracy but it needs to understand that governance moves from bottom to top and not vice-versa,” Akhilesh said, adding: “It was time for political ideologies to understand that all of them will have to adopt our socialist principle that one gets to sit in govt for the society.”The former CM said BJP always exploits and misuses society to attain authority by forming govt. “However socialist principles rest on the premise that authority of govt must be put to constructive use for the upliftment and welfare of the society. This is the only rationale behind all the administrative and govt paraphernalia that exists,” Akhilesh said. If there is no social welfare, it means govt does not exist, he said in a statement.Earlier talking to media persons at Parliament complex, Akhilesh said corruption and rampant commission was at peak in states being run by BJP. He cited waterlogging inside Noida Airport, defects of recently inaugurated Lucknow-Kanpur expressway, collapse of overhead community water tanks constructed under Jal Jeevan Mission, donation theft at Ram Temple as examples of rampant corruption under BJP govt in UP.‘BJP does not want to talk of police crackdown on students, donation theft’Lucknow: Central govt is more desperate for the monsoon session to end than to debate temple donation theft, police crackdown on protesting students at Jantar Mantar, FCRA and delimitation, said Akhilesh Yadav. He opposed Union home minister Amit Shah’s proposal of a 24-hour marathon debate and discussion window during the monsoon session and described the time-limit being set by govt as undemocratic. Instead of a debate, govt wants to lecture the opposition, Akhilesh said. He saw it as a restrictive, time-bound lecturing tactic rather than a genuine attempt to fix accountability.Corruption at peak under BJP govts: DimpleLucknow: SP MP Dimple Yadav on Wednesday attacked the BJP over corruption in states where it is in office. “Be it the closure of thousands of primary schools in UP, flooding at Noida Airport, potholes on the Lucknow-Kanpur expressway, donation theft – instances of corruption under BJP govt are innumerable,” Dimple said. Targeting central govt, Dimple said Union ministers were shying away from taking responsibility of pellet guns being fired at students protest at Jantar Mantar and Bihar police firing from AK 47 rifles on protesting students.
