Social activist Ritu Insan has embarked on a 10-day Kavad Yatra aimed at spreading awareness about women’s empowerment, self-reliance and social upliftment. The campaign, which began on August 1 from Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, will conclude on August 10 at Bhaini Surjan, her native village in Haryana.According to the organisers, the yatra seeks to encourage women to become Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) and recognise their identity, inner strength and potential. Through interactions with local communities along the route, the initiative aims to promote education, equal opportunities and social awareness for women.During the journey, Ritu Insan and her team will travel through Roorkee, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Panipat, Gohana, Rohtak, Bhiwani and Meham before reaching the final destination. Public meetings and awareness programmes are expected to be organised at various stops to engage local residents and encourage participation in the campaign.The organisers have appealed to citizens, community leaders and the media to support the initiative by joining the yatra at different locations and lending their voice to the cause of women’s empowerment.Speaking about the campaign, she says, “The initiative is intended to reinforce the message that empowering women contributes to the overall progress of society and the nation. We emphasis the need to ensure that every woman has access to education, dignity, equal opportunities and the confidence to become economically and socially independent.”The yatra is expected to culminate with a public gathering at Bhaini Surjan marking the conclusion of the awareness drive.
