Driver burnt alive as truck catches fire after head-on collision in Mohali
According to the initial investigation, the tipper was coming from the opposite direction when the two vehicles collided. The impact was so severe that the truck’s cabin caught fire, trapping the driver inside.

Mohali: A 25-year-old driver was burnt alive after the cabin of his gravel-laden truck caught fire following a head-on collision with a tipper on the Landran-Banur road near a fuel station at Saneta village early Monday morning. The tipper driver was also injured in the accident and was admitted to a private hospital.The accident occurred around 5 am when the truck was travelling from Banur towards Landran. According to the initial investigation, the tipper was coming from the opposite direction when the two vehicles collided. The impact was so severe that the truck’s cabin caught fire, trapping the driver inside.The deceased was identified as Deepchan Sahil Kumar (25), a resident of Himachal Pradesh. Deepchan died before any rescue could be carried out.Passers-by rushed to the scene and managed to pull the injured tipper driver, identified as Pyare Lal of Anandpur Sahib, from his vehicle. Later, he was shifted to a private hospital.The collision also disrupted traffic on the busy Landran-Banur road for some time as both vehicles suffered extensive damage. Police got the road cleared after completing the preliminary investigation.ASI Balbir Singh of Saneta police post said a case has been registered against tipper driver Pyare Lal.Following the postmortem, the police handed over the Deepchan’s body to his family members.
