Varanasi: A two-day short course on ‘Radiobiology: Concepts & Applications’ commenced at the department of Radiotherapy and Radiation Medicine, IMS-BHU, bringing together around 70 postgraduate students and young professionals from across the country. Inaugurating the programme, BHU VC Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi stressed the importance of interactive learning and encouraged the department to develop into a leading centre for radiotherapy education and research, while supporting plans for an MSc in Medical Physics. Former Tata Memorial Centre director Prof Satyajit Pradhan highlighted radiobiology as a core pillar of radiation oncology, while Prof Manoj Gupta of Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences delivered an expert lecture on clinical applications of radiotherapy in cancer treatment. The course features lectures and academic interactions on recent advances and clinical applications in radiobiology.
