Varanasi: Two persons were killed and another sustained serious injuries after a van carrying DJ equipment rammed into a parked vehicle on the Varanasi-Shaktinagar Highway near Jai Gurudev Ashram in Gurmura under the Chopan police station area of Sonbhadra district on Thursday. The impact was so severe that the cabin of the vehicle was badly mangled.According to reports, the van, belonging to a DJ sound service in Robertsganj, was returning after completing a wedding procession booking in Nagwa village of the Duddhi area when the accident occurred. As the vehicle reached near Jai Gurudev Ashram, it allegedly collided with a vehicle parked on the roadside.Two persons travelling in the DJ vehicle died in the accident, while one person suffered serious injuries and two others sustained minor injuries.After receiving information from eyewitnesses, Dial 112 police personnel and an ambulance rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Chopan. Following primary treatment, Chandan (42), a resident of Churk who sustained serious injuries, was referred to the district hospital for advanced treatment.The two other injured persons, identified as Shiva (21), a resident of Chhapka, and Vinay Kumar (21), a resident of Garwan, suffered minor injuries and were discharged after treatment.
