Noida: A fast-track court on Friday denied bail to five persons arrested in connection with the April 13 industrial unrest, citing their “active role” in the violence and arson.With the latest order, the court has so far disposed of 12 bail applications linked to FIR No. 169 registered at Phase-2 police station. It has rejected five applications, granted bail to seven, while four remain pending.Fast-track court judge Satyendra Singh heard eight pleas on Friday. Bail was denied to Akash Saxena, Shrishti Gupta, Akash Kumar alias Dehati, Rudrapratap and Amit Pal. The court, however, granted conditional bail to Ajay, Shiv Kumar and Madhuresh Rai.On April 13, the industrial workers’ unrest over wages spiralled into violence and arson across parts of the city. FIR No. 169 was registered on April 23, 10 days after the violence. It named workers of Richa Global, Abdul Karim and Akash Saxena, along with several hundred others.The FIR invokes BNS sections 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 127(2) (wrongful confinement), 109(1) (attempt to murder), 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) and 326(g) (aggravated mischief by arson). Police alleged that the accused gathered near the factory gate on April 10 and continued acts of vandalism and arson over the following days.In rejecting Saxena’s plea, the court said records suggested his “active involvement” in the violence. “A prima facie case is made out. In view of the facts and circumstances, grounds for bail are not sufficient,” the order noted.Shrishti Gupta’s plea was also dismissed after the court observed that she appeared to have played a central role in mobilising workers and instigating protests. The order said she was allegedly involved in organising labour groups and provoking violent action.Earlier, on June 3, acting fast-track court judge Sandeep Choudhary granted bail to Anil Kumar, while on May 25, three others — Mukesh Kumar, Ritesh Yadav and Satendra Kumar — secured relief.The court will now hear the bail pleas of Abdul Karim, Avadhesh and Vinay Kumar on Tuesday, while Satish’s application is listed for Monday.
