Bengaluru: Panic gripped commuters at Nagasandra Metro station on the Green Line Sunday after a minor fire was noticed on a signboard near the station’s emergency exit. No casualties were reported.The fire was first noticed around 1.30pm. Metro staff rushed to the spot and attempted to contain it using fire extinguishers. The fire and emergency services received an alert around 1.40pm. Personnel from Peenya Fire Station rushed to the spot with a water tanker and extinguished the flames. According to police, as a precautionary measure, passengers were prevented from heading towards the signboard.In a statement, BMRCL confirmed the incident. Bagalagunte police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A senior officer said BMRCL officials did not wish to lodge a complaint as there was no major loss during the incident.
