GURGAON: Three people were injured after a Santro car collided with a Scorpio-N on the Dwarka Expressway early on Sunday morning. The Santro caught fire after the crash, triggering panic among commuters.Police received information about the accident at around 3am. The collision occurred when the Santro hit the Scorpio-N from behind while both vehicles were travelling on the expressway.According to police, the three occupants of the Santro sustained injuries in the accident. However, none suffered burn injuries as they managed to get out of the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames.The injured were taken to a hospital for treatment. After receiving medical attention, they left for a private hospital in Delhi. The occupants were residents of Najafgarh in Delhi and were returning from Manesar.Police officials said the Santro caught fire shortly after the collision due to the impact of the crash. The incident caused panic among motorists on the expressway, with flames and smoke visible from the vehicle.A police officer from Rajendra Park police station said, “A call regarding the accident was received at around 3am. The Santro had hit the Scorpio from behind. The injured occupants were taken to hospital and no burn injuries were found.”Police said no complaint has been received so far in connection with the accident. Further action will be taken if a complaint is filed.
