Gurgaon: The city on Friday recorded a maximum temperature of 37.4 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature of 22 degrees Celsius. It was a sunny and humid day.According to data released by India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city’s maximum temperature at the Gurgaon AWS station was 37.4 degrees Celsius, down 0.7 degrees from Thursday. Gurgaon KVK recorded a maximum of 37.1 degrees Celsius, while NorthCap University logged 38.5 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of 22 degrees Celsius was nearly 5 degrees below normal and the lowest recorded anywhere in Haryana. On Thursday, the maximum temperature was 38.1 degrees Celsius while the minimum stood at 25 degrees Celsius.Across the state, average maximum temperatures fell by around 1 degree Celsius compared with the previous day, while minimum temperatures declined by 0.9 degrees Celsius. Bopani in Faridabad recorded Haryana’s highest maximum temperature at 40.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Rohtak at 40.2 degrees Celsius. Despite the dip, temperatures remained near normal across most districts.The relatively mild conditions are expected to continue over the weekend. The IMD has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph at isolated places across Haryana till June 22. The weather activity is likely to keep daytime temperatures under check and prevent any heatwave conditions from developing.In Gurgaon, maximum temperatures are expected to remain around 36-38 degrees Celsius over the next three days, while minimum temperatures are likely to stay in the range of 25-27 degrees Celsius. Partly cloudy skies, along with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning, have been forecast for the city during this period.However, the current spell of unsettled weather is expected to weaken after June 22. According to IMD’s seven-day outlook, weather conditions are likely to remain dry across Haryana between June 23 and June 25, with no significant weather activity expected during the period. The return of dry conditions could result in a gradual increase in daytime temperatures next week.
