Chandigarh: DC Nishant Kumar Yadav met players and coaches of the Indian Women’s Under-20 Handball Team on Monday ahead of the Women’s Under-20 Handball World Championship 2026 in China from June 24 to July 5.The deputy commissioner wished the team all the best for the tournament. He acknowledged the team’s preparation and the contribution of the coaches.Yadav reiterated the commitment of the Chandigarh administration to sports and assured full support to the team before, during, and after the championship.In his message to the team, the deputy commissioner said, “Every player in this team carries the hopes, dreams, and pride of a billion people. When you step onto that court, you do not just represent yourselves — you represent the soul of India. Play with pride, compete with courage, and whatever may come, triumph with honour. Chandigarh stands with you every step of the way. We believe in you.”
