Gangster plot foiled in Ludhiana, arms seized.

Ludhiana: Rural police have intercepted an alleged gangland hit in the making, arresting two men purportedly acting on orders from a Canada-based gangster to carry out a high-profile crime in exchange for cash. The suspects, identified as Kulwinder Singh and Harshdeep Singh, were apprehended at a high-tech checkpoint near Gurusar Kaunke. Officers recovered two .32-bore country-made pistols, four rounds of ammunition, and multiple magazines during the operation.Ludhiana Rural SSP Ankur Gupta has said the duo was recruited via social media by Davinder Pal Singh, an expatriate gangster known as “Gopi Loharia”, who allegedly promised the men ₹20,000 to execute a specific criminal task, with a portion of the fee paid in advance. The arrests followed a coordinated effort between the CIA staff and Sadar police. Acting on a tip-off that the suspects were traveling toward Ludhiana on an unregistered, stolen motorcycle, teams laid a trap to intercept them before they could reach their target.Investigators revealed that Harshdeep Singh is a repeat offender who was released on bail as recently as March 20 following a theft conviction. Police believe he began plotting this latest venture almost immediately upon his release to secure quick funding.A local court has granted police a two-day remand to interrogate the suspects further. The investigation is now focused on tracing the origin of the illegal weapons, identifying the source of the stolen motorcycle, and uncovering the financial network used by the Canada-based operative to move money into India.
