He, a member of the third battalion of the Mahar Regiment, and the labourers had entered the septic tank, closed for two months, to clean and repair it. “We suspect that toxic gases trapped inside the tank caused suffocation, leading to the fatal accident,” the officer said.Police have registered a case of unnatural death at Agia Police Station and initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances.Eyewitnesses said Krishna Rai first entered the tank and lost consciousness due to lack of oxygen.
