Trichy: Senior CPI leader R Mutharasan on Thursday said AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has understood that he cannot become chief minister again. Campaigning for Trichy West DMK candidate and minister K N Nehru in Woraiyur, Mutharasan said Palaniswami has sided with BJP for his personal gain.“EPS has no intent of becoming a chief minister. He is locked in the BJP alliance like a fly trapped in a spider web. While all parties in the DMK alliance oppose the delimitation bill to protect the rights of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi is refusing to accept the ill effects of the bill,” the former state secretary of CPI said. Mutharasan questioned the need to convene a Parliament session for tabling the delimitation bill while Tamil Nadu and West Bengal are in election mode. TNN
