Gurgaon: A scooter rider was killed after his two-wheeler collided with a truck on the service lane near Hero Honda Chowk on NH-48 in Gurgaon on Wednesday, police said.The identity of the deceased is yet to be established. Police said the victim died on the spot due to the impact of the collision. After receiving information about the accident, a police team reached the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.According to police, the victim was travelling on the service lane when his scooter collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. Preliminary inquiry suggested that the scooter rider entered the road from the wrong side, leading to the crash.Truck driver Vishal Sharma told police during questioning that the scooter suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle, leaving little time to react. Locals present near the spot also told police that the truck was moving on the correct side of the road when the scooter approached from the front.Police seized the truck after the accident and detained the driver for questioning as part of the investigation. Officers said CCTV footage from nearby areas is also being examined to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the collision.
