Gurgaon: Months after Haryana notified its Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy, the city added a major financial services and technology hub to its growing GCC ecosystem. US-based Prudential Financial Inc (PFI) on Tuesday opened its innovation centre in the city. This is the first GCC being set up after the policy notification. With Haryana seeking to attract more high-value multinational operations, the PFI India innovation centre will focus on areas including artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making, cybersecurity and enterprise-wide transformation.State industries minister Rao Narbir Singh said the setting up of Prudential’s first India innovation centre in the city reflected the growing confidence of global companies in Haryana’s policies, skilled workforce and business environment. “The city has emerged as a major global business hub,” Singh said, adding that the city’s ecosystem spanning financial services, IT, consulting and technology had made it an attractive destination for global companies. Prudential Financial said the centre has been created to accelerate transformation across its global businesses and “leverage India-based talent”.Industry data compiled puts the number of GCCs operating in the city at 315 GCCs as of Sept 2026, accounting for about 13% of the 2,401 GCCs tracked across India. Haryana recently released its GCC Policy 2026, aiming to attract more than 100 new GCCs and generate over 30,000 employment opportunities over five years.
