Eng college Alumni association funds siphoned off; 3, including bank manager, booked

Kalyan: The Manpada police in Dombivli have registered an offence against two former office-bearers of the Shivajirao S. Jondhale College of Engineering alumni association and a private bank manager for allegedly misappropriating over Rs 3 lakh from the association’s funds. Those who were booked in the case are identified as Sneha Mane Jondhale, former vice-president of the alumni association; Harsh Khare Jondhale, former secretary; and Tukaram Shete, a bank manager. According to the FIR, the alleged offence took place between Feb 16, 2022, and May 31, 2023, when the accused, in connivance with each other, allegedly withdrew funds from the alumni association’s bank account without mandatory approvals and diverted the money for personal use.Police said the accused bypassed established financial procedures, including obtaining prior sanction from the alumni committee before carrying out transactions.
