Noida: Fourteen vehicles were damaged as strong winds caused shuttering from the seventh floor of IThum Heights, a corporate building, to collapse onto cars parked in the neighbouring Graph City India Pvt Ltd parking lot in Sector 62 on Thursday.Though no one was injured in the incident, several people walking in the parking bay at the time said it triggered panic as many felt the under-construction building may come crashing down. Police said a few workers, who were at the construction site at the time, had also moved downstairs before the scaffolding collapsed.Police personnel from Sector 58 police station reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. They inspected the site and initiated action to ascertain the circumstances that led to the collapse.A preliminary investigation suggested that the shuttering came off due to the wind. However, a probe is underway to ascertain whether the shuttering had been adequately secured and whether the construction site had followed the necessary safety precautions.
