AAP dares CM to public debate on Kejriwal’s guarantees

Margao: AAP Goa president Valmiki Naik on Wednesday challenged chief minister Pramod Sawant to a public debate on the implementation of ‘Kejriwal’s guarantees’ in Goa.Naik claimed that Sawant had effectively admitted that even if BJP returned to office “by accident”, it would not be able to offer Goans anything close to what AAP has promised. BJP, he said, is incapable of fulfilling such commitments.Naik added that Sawant appeared rattled by Kejriwal’s guarantees and, through his statements, had conceded that if they were implemented, Goa would become “heaven on earth”. He alleged that BJP govt is forcing Goans to suffer high prices, a lack of jobs, a failed healthcare scheme, and nearly absent services. The six guarantees were announced by AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal at a recent volunteers’ meet in Goa ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. They include 300 units of free electricity for every household along with waived power bills, and Rs 3,000 a month for every woman above 18. Women would also receive free bus travel across the state. The remaining promises are Rs 10 lakh health insurance cover for every family, sports grounds in every village, and the scrapping of Section 39A of the TCP Act.AAP has maintained that it has delivered similar promises in Delhi and Punjab, and that Goa can expect the same if the party is voted to office.Naik said the chief minister’s own remarks showed BJP had no answer to the guarantees, and he called on Sawant to tell Goans why his govt could not match what AAP is offering.
