Kolkata: Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee on Friday approached the bench of Calcutta HC Chief Justice Ravindra Vithalrao Ghuge seeking a directive to stop media trials.On Thursday, Justice Krishna Rao had asked Banerjee’s counsel to approach the bench which was hearing such matters. Banerjee’s lawyer was told that Justice Rao did not have the jurisdiction to hear the plea.The division bench of CJ Ghuge and Justice Om Narayan Rai assured the counsel that a bench would be designated to hear the MP’s case.
