He left home for the temple on Saturday morning with his grandchildren. When the three failed to return by evening, family members began searching for them. They later found their bodies floating in a Krushi honda (farm pond) near the temple.Police suspect the children may have fallen into the pond while playing, prompting Muninarayanappa to enter the water in an attempt to rescue them. However, he may have been unable to get out due to the slippery conditions.Family members alleged that the pond, which belongs to a villager, lacked protective fencing, contributing to the tragedy.
