Rajkot: A minor dispute involving children playing escalated into violence at Mansukhbhai Chhapiya Township in Vavdi area of Rajkot after a neighbor and his associates assaulted a 40-year-old homemaker over a scratch on a parked vehicle.According to the FIR lodged at Rajkot Taluka police station, the altercation occurred on the afternoon of Sept 27 when 12-year-old son of the victim Prajavati Igole was riding his bicycle on the premises. The bicycle reportedly brushed against a car belonging to a neighbour, identified as Milan, causing visible scratch marks on the rear bumper.Shortly after, Milan accompanied by two friends arrived at the apartment of the complainant. Milan demanded the contact number of her husband, Rajesh, who was away working at a factory. When she declined to provide the number stating her husband would be occupied with work, Milan demanded Rs 50,000 for car repairs.Prajawati accompanied the men downstairs along with her son to inspect the vehicle. Upon noticing minor scratches on the bumper, she objected to Milan’s associates shouting and creating a scene. An argument ensued, during which Milan allegedly verbally abused her, slapped her twice, and kicked her from behind. His two accomplices allegedly pulled her hair. Milan also issued death threats if the repair amount was not paid.Later that afternoon, the confrontation continued when Milan’s mother, Rama, and his wife, Heena, arrived downstairs and began hurling abuses. Neighbors intervened when Milan attempted another physical attack. When Rajesh returned home around 3pm, the accused trio allegedly confronted the couple again and threatened to force them out of the residential complex.A police vehicle subsequently arrived at the spot following the altercation. On October 2 police officially registered an FIR against Milan, his wife Heena, his mother Rama, and two unidentified accomplices.
