Gurgaon: A final-year BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) student and three men have been arrested by Faridabad police, a month after a 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a group inside a dilapidated building in Sector 78, Faridabad. Her male friend, a Class 11 student, was also allegedly subjected to sexual and physical assault by the group. The accused also allegedly extorted Rs 10,000 from the two teenagers.According to sources, the girl, a Class 9 student at a private school, had gone to meet her 16-year-old friend, a Class 11 student, on Aug 24 after returning from tuition classes. The two were together when a group of youths allegedly followed them and cornered them inside an abandoned building.“It is a dilapidated building of Triveni and the victims had gone there on a bike around 7 pm. It was dark then, but the group of men saw them, cornered them and committed the crime,” an investigator said.As per the complaint, six men cornered the teenagers, while police said four persons were involved in committing the crime.Police have arrested Yash (23), a final-year BBA student at a private college in Faridabad; Kunal (20), a security guard; and Deepak (31), a tea vendor. Multiple police teams are conducting raids to apprehend the absconding accused.“After being informed, we immediately registered the case and started our investigation and nabbed the suspects. The absconding accused will be nabbed too,” Faridabad police spokesperson Yashpal Yadav said.The police have registered a case against the four accused men under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 96 (procuration of child for illicit intercourse), 137(2) (kidnapping), 351(3) (criminal intimidation involving serious threats) and 308(2) (extortion) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), besides Sections 6 (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) and 17 (punishment for abetment) of the POCSO Act at BPTP police station.The accused also allegedly threatened the two teenagers and demanded Rs 10,000 from them to let them go. Sources said the male victim requested a family member to transfer the money, following which the amount was transferred to the accused. Police said the accused knew each other.Due to the threats, the two teenagers initially did not tell their families about the incident. The girl’s distress, however, prompted her mother to question her, after which the teenager disclosed the alleged assault.Her parents subsequently lodged a formal complaint at BPTP police station on Sept 29. Based on the complaint and medical examinations conducted, police registered a case under relevant legal provisions.Police then traced and arrested three accused on Thursday, and they were produced before a magistrate on Thursday night, who sent them to four days of police custody. The victims were provided counselling sessions by the concerned authorities after police informed them about the incident.Investigators are questioning the accused and conducting further investigation to establish the role of each suspect and trace the absconding accused.
