Kolkata: Jadavpur University (JU) on Thursday submitted details of all decisions approved at the executive council (EC) meetings held in the last three years (2023-26) along with the agendas and minutes. The higher education department in a letter on Aug 5 asked the university to provide a full account of EC meetings held in three years along with their agendas and minutes. The miscellaneous agenda tabled in each EC meeting beyond the itemised agenda and its minutes during the last three years should also be submitted, read the directive.Acting registrar Debajit Dutta said, “We submitted the EC resolutions for the last three years to the department on Thursday.Many professors had pointed out that this was the first time that the higher education department has sought such detailed documents about EC and termed it an “attempt to curb the university’s autonomy”.
