Palanpur: Two days after a speeding Scorpio killed one pilgrim and injured 11 others near Himmatnagar, another incident involving devotees going to Ambaji was reported in Sabarkantha district.At least eight pilgrims returning from the Bhadarvi Poonam fair in the temple town were injured when a car rammed into the chhakdo rickshaw in which they were travelling. The rickshaw fell into a roadside ditch under the impact of the collision, said police. The incident occurred on Malasa-Mudeti road in Idar taluka on Tuesday.Local residents rushed to the spot and alerted the 108 emergency ambulance service, which shifted the injured to Bhiloda Civil Hospital. Three of the injured were reported to be in serious condition.The car driver allegedly fled the spot after the accident.On Monday, one person was killed and 11 others were injured after a speeding SUV rammed into a group of pilgrims walking to Ambaji near Dolgadh, close to Himmatnagar. An angry mob torched the vehicle and the police later detained the driver.
