Gurgaon: After a sunny start to the week and a dry spell, rain is likely to return to parts of Haryana from Sept 11. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated showers in Gurgaon and neighbouring districts over the next few days. The forecast categorises rainfall as “isolated” when up to 25% of reporting stations in a district are expected to record rain.IMD’s five-day district-wise rainfall forecast issued on Wednesday shows no rain in Gurgaon and Faridabad on Sept 9 and 10. But on Sept 11, both districts are to receive isolated rainfall, along with Palwal and Mewat in southern Haryana. Several northern districts — Yamunanagar, Panchkula, Ambala and Kurukshetra — are likely to see isolated or few spells earlier.Rain activity is expected to become more widespread across the state on Sept 12 and 13, though there’s no indication of heavy rain.Despite the expected increase in rainfall activity, IMD’s weather warning chart shows no warning for any district of Haryana through Sept 13.Meanwhile, Gurgaon remained dry in the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday. The minimum temperature at Gurgaon KVK station was 26.4°C, while NorthCap University automatic weather station recorded a minimum of 26.9°C. Faridabad recorded 27.1°C, with neither reporting rain.Across Haryana, the average minimum temperature rose by about 1°C compared with Tuesday but remained near normal, according to IMD. The state’s lowest minimum temperature was 23°C at Bhiwani.
