BENGALURU: A London-bound Virgin Atlantic flight carrying around 270 passengers made an “emergency landing” at Kempegowda International Airport on Sunday after developing a technical glitch shortly after take-off, sources at Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) said.The flight took off from the airport at around 8.20am but reportedly developed a technical issue soon after departure, news agency PTI reported.The crew then circled the aircraft near Tumakuru for more than 30 minutes before returning to Bengaluru.“All passengers on board are safe,” BIAL sources said, adding that the aircraft was brought back to the airport as a safety precaution and made an emergency landing.The exact nature of the technical problem was not immediately known.Authorities are looking into the cause of the incident, PTI reported.There was no immediate reaction from the airline.(With agency inputs)
