2,162 MBBS, BDS seats vacant after Round 1 of admissions in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: As many as 2,162 medical seats remain vacant in Gujarat after Round 1 of the 2026-27 undergraduate admission process, according to Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC).The vacant seats include 1,537 MBBS seats and 625 BDS seats, data released by the committee on Sep 5 showed.Of the MBBS seats, 785 were not allotted and candidates did not report for 752 seats. For BDS, 158 seats remained non-allotted, while candidates did not report for 467 seats.The committee began the Round 1 reporting process on Aug 29.The admission committee has advised students to regularly check its website for updates on the admission process. It has also asked students to contact the committee through its official email or helpline for queries and concerns.ACPUGMEC conducts admissions to medical and dental courses in Gujarat under Gujarat Professional Medical Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007.
