Varanasi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), BHU signed an MoU with Talendy Holdings Pvt Ltd on Monday to strengthen industry–academia collaboration and facilitate greater internship and career opportunities for students with Japanese and international companies.IIT-BHU director Prof Amit Patra said, “This partnership is a significant step towards strengthening IIT-BHU’s engagement with Japanese industry and expanding global opportunities for our students. We look forward to building meaningful industry linkages that will provide our students with greater exposure to international careers, internships and emerging technologies.”The MoU provides for collaboration in internships, placements and hackathons, with Talendy offering its Talendy Portal to IIT-BHU and its students free of charge. The platform will provide a centralized mechanism for internship and job opportunities and facilitate a structured recruitment process from applications to internships and potential Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). Talendy will also work with IIT-BHU to ensure transparency and efficiency in the internship process while aligning the platform’s operations with the Institute’s placement policies and guidelines.The platform was developed following discussions during the India-Japan Working Group Sessions held between 2020 and 2022, supported by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Embassy of India in Tokyo. The initiative involved leading Indian institutions and Japanese companies to explore ways of improving internship and employment opportunities.
