Shimla: Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary, at Sadbhawana Chowk in Chhota Shimla.Sukhu urged people to follow Gandhi’s path and recalled his contribution to the nation’s unity and integrity. Calling him the “Architect of Modern India”, the CM said Gandhi made significant contributions to the country’s development and sacrificed his life for national unity. He also highlighted Gandhi’s vision behind the information technology revolution, whose benefits the younger generation is reaping today.The CM administered the Sadbhavana pledge to participants on the occasion. Later, he also administered the pledge of national integration and communal harmony to officers and officials of the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat.Health and family welfare minister Colonel Dhani Ram Shandil (retd.), education minister Rohit Thakur, horticulture minister Jagat Singh Negi, deputy chief whip Kewal Singh Pathania, Shimla mayor Surinder Chauhan and other prominent persons were present on the occasion. .
