MUMBAI: Eleven people were safely rescued after a fire broke out at a commercial building on Station Road in Kandivali West early Monday morning.The fire was reported at around 4.14am at Abhirai Hotel near Kandivali Station Road.The blaze was confined to electrical wiring and installations, wooden furniture, tarpaulin, bamboo and plastic material at an adjacent temporary fruit stall.The fire also affected clothes, wooden furniture and a false ceiling spread across around 50 sq ft on the fourth floor of Tirupati Banquet.Aluminium and plastic decorative sheets on the exterior of the basement-plus-ground-plus-four-storey commercial building were also affected.The entire building was smoke-logged following the fire.Fire brigade personnel rescued 11 people safely through the staircase from a lodging house on the second floor.The fire was classified as a Level-I incident and was extinguished by 6.07am.No injuries were reported.
