New Delhi: Two people died after the battery of an e-rickshaw exploded in a godown in Raghubir Nagar early Monday.According to the Delhi Fire Service, a call about a godown fire was received at 4.42 am at R-17A, Masjid Gurudwara Road, Raghubir Nagar. Four fire tenders were sent to the spot.Officials said the fire broke out in domestic articles on the first floor of a ground-plus-four-storey building due to an e-rickshaw battery blast. The blaze was brought under control by 5.25 am.Before fire department teams reached, two people with burn injuries were taken to Guru Govind Singh Hospital in Raghubir Nagar. Doctors there declared both brought dead.The deceased were identified as Sufaid, 17, and Mohd Samid, 38.Police have registered a case and started an investigation. The exact cause of the battery explosion is being ascertained.
