Noida: A man died and another was injured after a fire broke out at a CNC wood-cutting shop in Shahberi around 2 am on Thursday.Firefighters rescued two men, Altamash and Aman, from the 12-by-10-foot unit after finding them unconscious inside. Both were taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Altamash dead during treatment, apparently due to smoke inhalation. Aman was later referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for further treatment.Chief fire officer Pradeep Chaubey said the two men were asleep inside the shop when the fire broke out and could not get out in time. Seven fire engines were dispatched initially, though the blaze was eventually brought under control using a single tender.Furniture and materials used for CNC wood cutting were damaged in the incident. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be established.
