New Delhi: Delhi BJP held seminars across all 14 organisational districts on Aug 14 to observe Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.Harsh Malhotra, president of the party’s Delhi unit, addressed a seminar organised by its Chandni Chowk district in association with social organisation Madhyam – Ek Vichar, at Kashmere Gate.Malhotra paid tribute to families who continue to carry the pain and memories of Partition and said it was not merely about the division of land, but of relationships, culture and a shared heritage built over centuries.Saying that his grandfather had to leave behind an ancestral shop in Lahore, Malhotra recalled how refugees rebuilt their lives from scratch and yet remained committed to serving India. “‘One India, Great India’ will be a tribute to our ancestors,” he said.MP Praveen Khandelwal told the gathering that millions of families in Delhi had ancestors who left behind everything in cities like Lahore, Karachi and Sialkot. He said respecting those scarred by Partition and building a “Shreshtha Bharat” will be a true homage to those who endured the horrors of 1947.
