Hisar: An additional district and sessions court in Hisar has sentenced two men to five years’ imprisonment each for snatching a gold tabiji (a traditional locket) from a woman in Oct 2023.Additional district and sessions judge Khatri Saurav also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on Hisar residents Arun alias Kaku and Ritesh alias Hitesh.According to the prosecution, Azad Nagar police had registered a case on Oct 8, 2023, following a complaint by Urmila, a resident of Badya Rangran village. She told police that she was returning home from the fields on a bullock cart at around 10.30 am when two unidentified youths stopped her near a field.The duo had allegedly parked their motorcycle on the roadside. They intercepted her bullock cart and her locket weighing around one-and-a-half tola from her neck before fleeing on the motorcycle.
