Palanpur: Banaskantha police seized charas worth Rs 34.5 lakh, a country-made pistol and 16 live cartridges from a Bihar man travelling by bus to Patan.As part of intensified checking because of local body elections, police stopped a private bus at the Amirgadh check post on Friday. They allegedly found 13.78kg of charas and weapons in the bag of a passenger identified as Mukesh Prakash Tarun Prakash.Banaskantha DSP Prashant Sumbe said, “Mukesh was travelling from Jaipur. The pistol and cartridges were to be delivered to one Mohammed Khalid Yunus in Patan. He has also been detained.” Sumbe added that Mukesh’s accomplice, identified as Vicky Kumar, fled when police were checking the passengers’ belongings.
