Bangarpet (Kolar): Bangarpet police arrested a 35-year-old man wanted in connection with 73 criminal cases registered across four South Indian states, including Karnataka. The accused, Suresh alias Patre Suresh of Madurai, allegedly led a gang that travelled across the states in a car, broke open the locks of houses and fled with valuables.Police also arrested two of his alleged accomplices — Veerapandiyan alias Kurup, 25, of Tiruchirappalli, and Lakshmanakanthan, 30, of Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu. Police records show that Veerapandiyan has 37 cases against him, while Lakshmanakanthan is facing 57 cases, including seven murder cases.Following their arrest, police recovered around 300 grams of gold jewellery worth Rs 45 lakh and 475 grams of silver articles from the accused.
