Noida: A tempo driver died of the injuries he sustained when he was hit by a speeding Eeco van in the Expressway police station area on Thursday, police said.The deceased was identified as Shiv Kumar. According to a complaint filed by his brother Ramkumar Tiwari, Shiv was returning to Delhi after delivering a batch of goods near Pari Chowk when the accident took place.At around 9.30 pm, when he reached Advant on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, the van rammed into his vehicle. The impact of the collision was severe and left Shiv critically injured. His tempo was also badly damaged.According to police, passers-by rushed to help and immediately took the injured driver to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, Shiv succumbed to his injuries.An FIR has been lodged against the unidentified van driver under sections 106(1) (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, an officer said.Efforts are under way to identify and trace the driver, he added.
