Ahmedabad: Five men stormed into a spa in Hansapur area on Wednesday night, attacked an employee and threw him from the building’s fourth floor, causing his death. Naroda police have registered a case of murder, rioting, trespass, mischief and criminal conspiracy.Dashrath Meena (27) worked at Krisha Spa located in Vishal Empire Complex on SP Ring Road. He was allegedly attacked with a blunt object before being thrown off.According to the complaint lodged by another spa employee, Janakkumar Shukla (39), the attack seemed to be the fallout of an earlier confrontation at the spa. Shukla told police that around 8pm on Wednesday, two former employees, Shabha Sheikh and Vaishnavi, arrived at the spa with a man identified only as Vishal. The trio were allegedly agitated over a raid on their spa, suspecting that authorities had been tipped off. Shukla told police his colleagues and owners of his spa intervened and persuaded the three to leave.At around 12.15am, when Shukla was away, he received a WhatsApp call from the owner telling him that five men, including Vishal, had allegedly returned, vandalised the spa, assaulted Meena and thrown him off the fourth floor. Meena was found lying in a pool of blood behind the building. A 108 ambulance was called and paramedics declared him dead at the scene.Shukla told police that after the owner’s call, he returned to the spa and checked the CCTV footage. It allegedly showed the accused kicking and punching Meena. One of them, wearing a green shirt, allegedly struck Meena on the back of the head with a heavy object, causing severe bleeding. The complaint states that footage showed the man in a green shirt and another man wearing a blue shirt lifting Meena and throwing him out of the fourth floor’s rear window.Shukla further told police that CCTV cameras have captured Vishal and his four associates entering the premises, vandalising the property and assaulting Meena before throwing him out of the building.
