Anil Vij attacks Arvind Kejriwal over E-20 petrol, says ‘he would oppose even air and water’
Haryana labour and transport minister Anil Vij in Ambala on Wednesday

Ambala: Haryana labour and transport minister Anil Vij on Wednesday took a swipe at AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal over his reported opposition to E-20 petrol, saying the former Delhi chief minister had made opposing everything “a habit”.Responding to a question from reporters, Vij said, “He opposes everything. He would even oppose air and water. It has become a part of his habit.”The remarks came amid the political sparring over the Centre’s push for E-20 fuel, which contains 20% ethanol blended with petrol as part of its cleaner fuel and energy security roadmap.Addressing the media in Ambala Cantonment, Vij also announced that Haryana has signed an MoU with automotive manufacturer Ashok Leyland to set up a state-of-the-art Institute of Driving Training and Research (IDTR) on 13 acres at Shahpur. The institute will train and certify drivers and is expected to issue around 2,000 new driving licences and renew nearly 20,000 licences every year.In another announcement, Vij said the office of the Deputy Labour Commissioner has been shifted from Panchkula to Ambala Cantonment, a move he said would benefit workers and industrialists from six to seven neighbouring districts by reducing travel for labour court-related work.On the issue of Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) nurses being granted the Nursing Officer designation, Vij said the decision follows the same policy adopted during his tenure as health minister, when nursing staff were accorded the rank based on seniority.
