Gurgaon: Three people died and three others were critically injured after the SUV they were travelling in crashed into an unidentified vehicle on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Nuh at 3am on Monday.While Ram Kishan Meena (37), his brother-in-law Avinash Meena (19), and Anita Sharma died on the spot, Usha Devi, Bhure Singh and Nehnu Ram Meena were critically injured.The occupants — residents of Sansera village in Jaipur district of Rajasthan — were members of a network marketing company, AWPL, and were travelling in a Maruti Suzuki Fronx to attend a company event in Nainital.According to a complaint filed by Ram Kishan’s elder brother, Rampal Meena, when the SUV reached near Banarsi and Dhadholi Kalan villages on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, the driver of an unidentified vehicle moving ahead suddenly applied brakes, causing the Fronx to collide with it. The impact left the occupants with severe injuries while killing three on the spot.Passersby alerted the police, who reached the spot with an ambulance and shifted the victims to Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Govt Medical College in Nalhar. “After initial treatment, the three injured were referred to a private hospital in Gurgaon for advanced care. Nehnu Ram, who was driving the SUV, remains in a critical condition,” an officer added.The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the Nalhar Medical College mortuary for autopsy.Based on Rampal’s complaint, a case has been registered against the unidentified vehicle and its driver under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death by negligence) of the BNS. Teams have been formed to identify the vehicle involved in the collision and trace its driver, police said.
