Weather tomorrow: IMD warns of heavy to very heavy rain in Odisha; hot and humid weather to persist in Delhi-NCR
The weather department said active monsoon conditions are likely to continue over east, central and northeast India over the next three to four days, with heavy rainfall expected in several regions.

NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across several parts of the country on Friday, with heavy to very heavy rain likely in parts of east, central and northeast India.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also expected in several regions, while hot and humid conditions are likely to continue over Delhi-NCR, Punjab and parts of south India.

IMD weather alert for Friday

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Odisha, while heavy rainfall is expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, east Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Sikkim.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Jharkhand and parts of Madhya Pradesh.Similar weather is also expected over Bihar, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Telangana and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Delhi-NCR weather tomorrow

Delhi-NCR is likely to witness isolated rain activity. While no heavy rainfall warning has been issued for the region, hot and humid weather is expected to persist through the day.

North India forecast

Light to moderate rainfall is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, with heavy rainfall expected over Uttarakhand.East Uttar Pradesh is also likely to receive heavy rain, while scattered showers are expected over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh.

East and northeast India forecast

Odisha is likely to remain the focus of the monsoon on Friday, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected at isolated places.Heavy rainfall is also likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim, while widespread rain is expected across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura over the coming days.

Central and west India forecast

Heavy rainfall is likely over Chhattisgarh, while parts of Madhya Pradesh may witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds.Konkan and Goa are expected to continue receiving widespread rainfall, while scattered showers are likely over Gujarat, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Saurashtra and Kutch.

South India forecast

Rain is likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Rayalaseema.Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are also expected over parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.

IMD’s latest forecast

The weather department said active monsoon conditions are likely to continue over east, central and northeast India over the next three to four days, with heavy rainfall expected in several regions.The IMD has advised people in areas under heavy rainfall warnings to remain cautious as localised flooding, waterlogging and traffic disruption may occur in vulnerable locations.
